PlayButton is a simple app that boils audio playback down to its essence. One record button, one play button, and one sound at a time. Especially appropriate for very small children or students who have physical problems with pressing small buttons, this app allows the user to participate with their sound. The interface has been refined to be as easy to manipulate as possible.
For additional control over the interface a "lock" functionality is available from the device's Settings that allows a recorded sound to be locked, removing the record buttons.
The App was conceived, designed, proposed and tested by Jenny Lisa Kass for use in her music therapy classes:
I use this app to give a non verbal client the opportunity to participate in a song by recording myself singing a part. Most often I will sing "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis, and the group participant will push the button when it is time to say "Goodness gracious great balls of fire!"
